Summary

Gear up for an all-the-feels, steamy slow-burn in this enemies-to-lovers sports romance about fighting for love when life’s taught you it’s a losing game。

Gavin

We’ve been teammates for two years, but it feels like a lifetime that Oliver Bergman’s been on my last nerve。 A demanding captain and veteran player, I’m feared and friendless, while he’s the beloved rising star, all sunshine smiles and upbeat team spirit。 To make matters worse, he’s obscenely attractive。 In short: he’s genetically designed to get under my skin。

Avoiding Oliver has been my survival tactic on and off the field。 But when Coach drops the bomb that we’re now co-captains, avoiding him becomes impossible, and keeping the truth from him–let alone my distance–is harder than ever。

Oliver

Life was great until soccer legend Gavin Hayes joined the team and proved he’s nothing like the guy I grew up idolizing。 Instead, he’s a giant–albeit gorgeous–grump who lives to rain on my parade。 I’ve sworn off pranks since entering the public eye, so rather than settle our differences the Bergman way, I’ve had to settle for killing Gavin with kindness。 There’s just one problem: killing him with kindness is killing me。

To make matters worse, Coach gives us an ultimatum: put an end to our enmity or say goodbye to being captains。 I’m prepared to be miserable while we meet her demands and make nice, but the last thing I expect is to discover an explosive attraction we can’t help but act on, and worse yet, to realize the man hiding beneath Gavin’s gruff exterior is all I’ve ever wanted。

Everything for You is a grumpy-sunshine, enemies-to-lovers, age gap sports romance about an upbeat rising soccer star with anxiety and his curmudgeonly veteran teammate who lives with chronic pain。 Complete with nosy senior citizens, nosier siblings, and a meddling coach, this standalone slow burn is the fifth in a series of novels about a Swedish-American family of five brothers, two sisters, and their wild adventures as they each find happily ever after。

This was essentially Queer Ted Lasso fan fiction in the best way possible。 Easy read that didn’t drag on longer than it should, filled with some fun troupe for enemy to lover。

I couldn’t stop imagining Gavin as Roy Kent, and based on the acknowledgements, I was right to do so。 If you like grumpy-sunshine, romance novel trope bingo, and a hefty dose of “d’awwwwwww,” you’ll love this。My only complaint is my frequent complaint with romance novels, which is that all characterization seems to go out the window when they start having sex。 It’s like they’re switched out for body doubles or something。 It’s a bit jarring。

I would have liked to see more of an emotional attachment and relationship building from the beginning of the book。 Most of this book was purely physical。

Great pacing and heart searingly sweetOne of the best enemies to lovers O have read in a while。 i will say it probably worked a little too hard to be woke and representative for the sake of it rather than it being a core part of the book, so I found my self skim reading a lot that was not actually about the romance。 That being said I did like the perfect imperfect of both characters。

Not going to rate this one, because I just couldn't get into it。 Three chapters or so, and I'm done。 Just do not care。 I didn't actually expect to, so it's fine。 I gave this one a chance after reading Ren and Frankie's book because I prefer LGBTQ stories anyway。 And。。。yeah, this took way too long。 AND, it's present tense, which I also hate but can sometimes ignore in the right story。 Not gonna slog through this though。 Not going to rate this one, because I just couldn't get into it。 Three chapters or so, and I'm done。 Just do not care。 I didn't actually expect to, so it's fine。 I gave this one a chance after reading Ren and Frankie's book because I prefer LGBTQ stories anyway。 And。。。yeah, this took way too long。 AND, it's present tense, which I also hate but can sometimes ignore in the right story。 Not gonna slog through this though。 。。。more

4 ⭐️ Even though the smut in this book was so filthy that it made me squirm, it was an excellent read。 The mental health rep was actually profound and touching on several occasions。 Gavin and his struggles with inadequacy, vulnerability, letting himself be loved really resonated with me。 I will definitely be picking up the other Bergman brother books!

This book was so incredibly heartwarming and had some of the best leads out of any of the books in this series, along with my favorite supporting characters (I'm a sucker for the funny senior citizen friend groups)。 The depth of the characters and certain events in the story completely did me in。 This book was so incredibly heartwarming and had some of the best leads out of any of the books in this series, along with my favorite supporting characters (I'm a sucker for the funny senior citizen friend groups)。 The depth of the characters and certain events in the story completely did me in。 。。。more

Gay Roy Kent and a Bergman brother? Hello。 Kind of enemies to lovers age gap。 How big of an age gap is considered enough to comment on it? Idk。 Point is - my heart soared the entire time。 Happiness found our Ollie。

Not because it's a queer book but I think this one's different from the other books in the series? It lacked depth, or authenticity? Not because it's a queer book but I think this one's different from the other books in the series? It lacked depth, or authenticity? 。。。more

Not my favorite Chloe Liese book but how could you not love either of these main characters??

God, I love the Bergmans so much。 Every book in this series is so solid and the representation is incredibly thoughtful without feeling forced。 I’d highly recommend this one, along with the rest of the series。 I listened to this one on audio and I wish there were two narrators to mirror the alternating perspectives from chapter to chapter, but I still really enjoyed it!

if you know me you know i Always enjoy a good sports romance。 and now ur telling me i can have that plus queer!!!! sign me up。 this was incredibly good and i finished it so quickly because i was extremely invested in oliver’s happiness。 the only issue i take with this book is that compared to the other parts of this series, the development felt quite rushed。 i understand gavin and oliver knew each other for years before but they still felt like strangers who jumped into romance rather quick。 but if you know me you know i Always enjoy a good sports romance。 and now ur telling me i can have that plus queer!!!! sign me up。 this was incredibly good and i finished it so quickly because i was extremely invested in oliver’s happiness。 the only issue i take with this book is that compared to the other parts of this series, the development felt quite rushed。 i understand gavin and oliver knew each other for years before but they still felt like strangers who jumped into romance rather quick。 but !!!! it really was amazing and i’m so excited for any books in this series。 。。。more

Let’s say 3。5 stars。 Very serviceable as the others are, but not a huge departure from the dynamic between the other couples in previous books。 But, absolutely love reading non normative main characters, and she is good about doing them thoughtfully。 Borrows heavily from a show, which is fun bc I love that show, but also brings a lot of déjà vu, or lack of suspense as the characters’ personalities are so familiar。 Still, enjoying this series。

Emy

The writing just had way too much cringe。 The pacing and manner of the character development seemed a bit off, too little too late, and too surface level for what there could have been。 Lastly, this is on me I guess, but I was just expecting more on-page sports content than we got for this story centering on 2 athletes playing on the same team during preseason。

Shiloh

So many pop culture references that I was squirming with discomfort。 Also a cock ring。

Sophie

man, this book was horny

I haven’t squealed at a book in so long but Gavin and Oliver are just so perfect!!! This book had some of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, grumpy & sunshine, and of course Only One Bed。 Also, Gavin is LITERALLY Roy from Ted Lasso and I love that。Edit: omg I just read the authors comment in the reviews and she literally says it has Ted Lasso grumpy sunshine vibes。 Guess I was spot on。 😂

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 5/5This book felt like it was part of a completely different series and rlly sets itself apart from the other four books!! Lol I was also right to go into this book w low expectations, but it genuinely is the best of the 5 books so far in this series, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it was barely set up in Axel and Rooney’s book and it happens to be the best one…。 But oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️Also this book gave me major Kulti vibes which I absolutelyyyy loved Like I loved Ollie and Gavin individually 5/5This book felt like it was part of a completely different series and rlly sets itself apart from the other four books!! I thought that was a little odd but I looked past it, same w the 4 year time jump in the second chapter 。。。more

There wasn’t enough development of their relationship for me, and I wasn’t a fan of how everyone spoke like a poet。 Nobody talks like that! I still enjoyed the book though。
